About us

Sri Yajnavalkya Sabha has been in existence since the year 1930 in the name of Sri Shukla Yajurveda Sabha at Chennai. It became a registered Society in the name of Sri Yajnavalkya Sabha in 1911. The Sabha presently has its building at Old Pallavaram and has constructed a unique shrine housing the Spiritual Guru, the sage Yajnavalkya with his spouses Katyayani and Maitreyi, Lord Sri Yoga Ganapathy, Goddess Gayatri, Lord Surya and Sri Adi Shankara. Poojas and Homams are performed regularly here. This Sabha is brimming with a lot of other Spiritual activities.

This Sabha has a governing body consisting of a President, two Vice presidents, a General secretary, a Treasurer, and executive members. All are elected by the General body. This Sabha has a lot of members, and the Life members that exceed a thousand.
