Dr. R.Thiagarajan is the former Professor and Head of the Postgraduate and Research Dept of Sanskrit, (160 years old) Presidency College, Chennai.

  1. Specialization in Sahitya, Vyakarana, Alankara, Nyaya and Jyotisha
  2. He has been teaching Sanskrit and allied cultural subjects there for about 32 years. 
  3. He has guided so far 80 M.Phil students.
  4. 23 students got Ph.D under his guidance from the University of Madras. 
  5. He has been the co-ordinator of the centre of the spoken Sanskrit course.
  6. He has delivered more than 1000 Lectures at the educational academies.
  7. Presented 108 " Ratnadipika" Sanskrit programmes in Doordarshan, Madras.
  8. He has participated in "Vivada medai", "Kalathin Kural", "Disaigal 4" etc in the media. Sun News, News 18 and Vendar T.V to discuss on Sanskrit Subjects. He has given more than 1000 You Tube programmes on various Sanskrit Subjects.
  9. Presented more than 160 programmes in All India Radio.
  10. He has been recognized as the Man of the Year for 1999 and 2000 (consecutively for two years) by the American Biological Institute for his peerless service to humanity.
  11. He has attended many National and International seminars, conferences and symposiums. And had presented more than 100 research papers.
  12. He chaired the " Religion and Philosophy" session in the All India Oriental conference held at Madras. His Paper in the World Sanskrit Conference held at Delhi was "Sanskrit and Internet" which was applauded by the Scholars.
  13. Text books prepared by him have been prescribed for primary, Secondary and College courses.  They are Samskrita vani, Samskrita Manjari part-I, Samskrita Manjari Part-II, Kalasala Pathamala, Sakuntalacharitam, Samskrita vahini Part-I, Sanskrita Vahini Part II, KumaraSambhava Canto III, Kumarasambhava canto VI, Bhagavata Campu of Cidambarakavi.

Dr. Thiagarajan is also a Tamil Writer whose articles have appeared in the popular Tamil magazines-Mangaiyarmalar, Kalki, Kalaimagal, Manjari, Vainavam, Jagadguru, Amman darisanam, and other magazines. He is the brother's son of T. Janakiraman, the famous writer and the sahitya academy award winner.
  15. He reviews books for "The Hindu" news Paper and contributes articles in "Tattavaloka" and "Sandarshana" the English journals.
  16. He has written numerous articles in English in the reputed journals like B.R. International, Honkong.
  17. He has given Foreword to many works in Tamil.
  18. He has Written Dramas in Sanskrit and Tamil which were broadcast and telecast.
  19. His research Article "Music and Sanskrit" could be read in the internet.
  20. He has translated into English and Tamil ( in ten volumes) the Kritis of Muthuswami Dikshitar carnatic Sahitayakara.
  21. He is conducting free Sanskrit Class in the Internet.
  22. He has recited Sanskrit Devotional Lyrics and Mantras and brought out 160 C.Ds and Casettes 5 DVDs.  A record break.
  23. Dr. Thiagarajan has written a book in English entitled "The Bhagavata Campu of Cidambarakavi.
  24. He has authored the Work "Culture of India and its global influence".
  25. His Tamil works are "Mana oonjal", "Pennmanigal Mummanigal", "Dhvani Oru vilakkam", "Arivum Ariviyalum", "Vani stavam", and "Kalviyum kadamaiyum".
  26. He has edited "Kanchi Pushpanjali" a souvenir commemorating the centenary of Paramacharya Chandrasekarendra Saraswati.
  27. He has also edited Sri "Yogeeshwara Manjari" a Souvenir on Sage Yajnavalkya and "Veda Vani" a book.
